sorry senget~

Pros: 4.0" Super Clear LCD Screen! Standard connectivity available - GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth. smooth interface(no lag whatsoever), 5mpx camera with LED flash! Comes with built-in 16gb memory, Contoured display with curved glass screen, has front-facing camera can be used for Video Calls(via 3G n Wifi). Comes with Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 (upgradeable to 2.3.4!), Single-core 1GHz CPU! 512MB RAM

Cons: no 720p video recording(even though Samsung Galaxy S has this feature), no microSD slot(so u're forever stuck with 16gb, which is alot pon), no dedicated camera key, accessories are hard to find

My say: The first ever Gingerbread powered phone. the Nexus S is the better twin brother for the very-popular Samsung Galaxy S. Basically, Samsung provided the hardware, and Google came up with the software. Since Google phones(Google Nexus One and Nexus S) are developer phones, they have NO BLOATWARE(apps from manufacturer). So, u'll have to download ur own 3rd party video player and file manager apps and etc...

If u've tried the original Galaxy S, u've probably experienced how LAGGGGYYY it was. well that was because of Samsung's stupid idea of using a file system called RFS. but this problem does not exist with the Nexus S and it runs silky smooth and without any glitches or lags.

If u're budget is within RM1250-1350, then this phone is ThePhoneForYou! =D

[TIP] Updating your Droid

Android is a forever- updating and upgrading software

So how do u ensure that ur droid is using the latest and best software and not stuck on the same 'ol software that u got when u first bought it?

You update it!

You can check whether ur phone has any updates or not by going to
Settings > About Phone > Software Update
If there is and update available, u can download it OTA(Over The Air, maknanya directly to ur phone, bukan melalui PC)
(make sure u're connected to Wifi before doing this)

OK u've checked that there SHOULD be an update for ur phone, tp xde pon!

Dont worry, sometimes updates arrive to other regions(mainly Europe) earlier than they arrive at Malaysia, thats why lambat siket baru bole update...

Other than updating Over The Air (OTA), you can also update your phone by using ur computer via an updating software

Motorola Software Update -> LINK

Check if there are updates to ur HTC phone in Malaysia HERE. HTC usually updates their phones OTA

for Samsung, you'll have to use Samsung KIES to update ur software
but BE CAREFUL when updating via KIES, cuz sometimes there will be some issues when u update via KIES -> KIES Download Link HERE

for Sony Ericsson phones, check HERE

or, as an alternative and if u like to tinker with ur phone, u can download and install new firmwares or custom ROMS to ur phones by visiting the XDA forum HERE

*You should definitely back up ur phone cuz sometimes a major update will WIPE EVERYTHING (contacts, messages, apps) from ur phone

 Android Eclair 2.1
Android Froyo 2.2

Android Gingerbread 2.3

and the yet-to-be released Android Ice Cream Sandwich 2.4!

Cons: screen kecik...screen resolution pon kecik(tp HTC Wildfire pon sama screen resolution tp screen die lg besar so lg sakit mata), camera xde flash, camera performance menyedihkan kalau time malam. resistive(kena tekan sket) touchscreen.

Overall: tgk harga la wei. jgn expect byk sgt for something under RM450.00, tp still, phone ni ada WIFI AND GPS! at least bole bukak facebook n twitter kan bile jalan2..kan? hehe so why not? huhu

Pros: cheapest Gingerbread-powered phone u will find! seriousllyyyy! and has secondary camera for video calls via wifi(using 3rd party apps - Tango, Fring), supports Adobe Flash

Cons: low RAM, slow CPU speed, NO GPS, no camera flash (but bear in mind, this phone is reallllyyyy cheap, so kira berbaloi laa jugak)

Competition: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 (RM499AP, RM650 Ori)

My personal opinion: Ideos X3 > SE X8

Huawei Ideos X5

RM850 Original 2 years warranty

Featured Specs: 3.8" capacitive touchscreen, 2gb internal memory, 512MB RAM, 800MHz CPU, Android OS Froyo 2.2, 5mp camera with flash, 720p video recorder, GPS, Wifi, Supports Adobe Flash

Review: I've already made an "in-depth" review on this phone. so checkitout HERE

Competition: Samsung Galaxy Ace (RM850 Ori SME)

My personal opinion: Ideos X5 > SGA

ZTE Blade

RM650 Original 1 year warranty

Featured Specs: 3.5" AMOLED OR LCD capacitive touchscreen, 150mb internal memory, 512MB RAM, 600MHz CPU, Android OS Froyo 2.2, 3.15mp camera with flash, GPS, Wifi

Pros: cheapest Android phone with this size of screen! sufficient RAM, has GPS

Cons: Camera resolution not up to par,

Competition: HTC Wildfire (RM650 AP, RM770 Ori), Samsung Galaxy Mini (RM600 Ori SME)

My personal opinion: ZTE Blade > HTC Wildfire (cuz of the screen size n resolution) > SG Mini (in ALL areas)

Advantages of these Chinese-Made Phones:
Cheappp!!
Software up-to-date!
Overall phone performace slightly better than other models of equal or higher value(eg: Samsung Galaxy Ace, HTC Wildfire S)

Disadvantages:
Poor camera performance
Poor battery life
lack of 3rd party accessories in the market (u'll have to search online to get casings for this phone, dont expect to find them at every phone shop u go to)

[APP] WhatsApp

Here at The Phone For You, I'm trying to expand the horizon of my business.

I'm no longer just selling phones and accessories, I'm trying to give the best experience of using a Smartphone!

Therefore, I'm adding a Weekly APPLICATION(APP) UPDATE for all the best apps there is!

However, I will only be able to talk about apps that are on the Android Market seeing as I myself am an Android user and I try to use my phone to its full potential!

So the first App that I'll be sharing with u is the WhatsApp app.

Download Link -> HERE

Using this app, u can send messages to any smartphone on almost any platforms (Android, iOS, Symbian and Blackberry OS) for FREE

Its not limited to sending text messages, u can also send pics, map locations, music, and videos! though I'm not sure whats the maximum size limit, cuz i've only tried sending pics.

There's a catch though, u'll need to have an internet connection to use this app to send/receive messages

So only use this app when u are connected to the internet via Wifi or if u have a data plan!

This app is great if u want to chat with someone because u receive messages directly to ur phone instantly and u dont have to sign in or sign up an account or anything, because its tied to ur number once u've installed it. All u need is an internet connection!

Plus, u can also make group chats to chat with multiple friends in one conversation!

A reminder for Android users, this app is only free for the FIRST year since u downloaded the app to ur phone, if u want to continue using it in ur 2nd year, u'll have to pay USD1.99 if im not mistaken. I'm not sure whether or not u can fool them by deleting the WhatsApp app and reinstalling it or having a factory reset in order to avoid getting charged, but u can try~ =D

and to Blackberry users, if ur on a BBM + BIS only package, u DO NOT have an internet package included! u can only use ur BBM + BIS + Facebook + Twitter! So data charges will apply if u dont have an internet package and if u're not on Wifi

Once u've downloaded and installed this app, it will automatically sync with ur contacts list and detect those on ur contacts who have themselves installed WhatsApp

and btw, feel free to add me up on WhatsApp via my number - 017-8862124 if u have anything to ask! and u wanna ask for Free! haha =D

Thanks for visiting ThePhoneForYou! :D
